Christmas Challenge

I will be gone to NV for the next two weeks, so I may not be able to gather points for a while. I may have internet access there, but I doubt it. I leave tomorrow at noon (3:00 for East Coasters) and here is my challenge. Over the course of the next two weeks, try to accumulate a total of as much points as I currently have. If we can accomplish this, we could be WAY past Nightwing by mid-January! Maybe even by New Years! (TDNM) I will be doing as much as I can offline (writing reviews, etc.) while in NV. Just Shy of 200,000

Hey guys!

So I ended up being more busy than I thought I would be and so I didn't get the point posted last night, or emailed to you Winter. So sorry. Our total stands around 180K and so we are still shy of Nightwing's 200K+. ::sigh:: No worries :) This week I'll be doing lots more hopefully, and hopefully some of you will as well, and so we should break 250K if not 300,000. 300K would be awesome and so it is my goal for the week!

That means all of you need to try and do something this week :) lol Not a lot, but something.

Tribe Report Today - Points Go Live!

Hey guys! Today is the final day to get me your points for the report. WTB has told Seth and others that he plans to post tribe totals LIVE after this week! Do you know what that means? LAST MINUTE POINTS GALORE!!!

Before I send this in I want us to have at LEAST 200,000 Vanadils. At least! Because Nightwing has that many, but they're slowing down. I need 200K before the end of today.

That being said, I will total up the points earlier tonight if I can and let you all know where we are. I have something going on this evening but I will try to post early. At the very latest the tribe total will be on here at 9-9:30EST. I have yet to write all my reviews and such this week, or to do ANY Multimedia (so you guys are beating me in the monthly goal) so my points may be down. We'll see. I typically get my 20K last minute ::laughs::

So that's that. I've seen a great effort from Winter's Read Loyalbow and Jamie. And Celeb's done a great job too :) The rest of you need to step it up! You'll get behind ;) lol

Contest Extension - Theme Months MULTIMEDIA

Well seems you've all likely heard about the extension of the contest from New Year's to March 1st. Doesnt' seem that any of the tribes are too happy about this extension, but we all will have to live with it.

Because this month is not going to be the last, and as we have gotten a few new members (waves to Celeb and Jamie) I have decided on an idea.

Theme Months.

That's right....every month you will be challenge ::coughs:: ordered ::coughs:: do complete a trillion things in one category.

And December is the month for multimedia.

This means posters, videos, photos, etc. And it truly all isn't that difficult.

1. Posters

Get on the computer into whatever program you need (Publisher, iPhoto, Paint, Word, etc) and make a brochure. Also you could do a full blown poster. Decorate this poster to the theme of either TDW, TWLC, COTSK, or Isle Duo. The poster must have the book(s) cover on it somewhere.
From there all you have to do is hang it up somewhere. You only get 500 Points per location but these can be hung up at libraires, schools, book stores, churches, etc. So there's the possibility for many points to be gained.

2. Video

This one requires a bit more technology but I think most of you have it. All you need is a video camera and a computer. You all have a computer so it's just the camera we need worry about. There's all kinds of programs for making videos too, Moviemaker (on all PCs), iPhoto/Video (on all Macs). Any will work. If you need help working the program let me know. If you do not have acces to these programs you have a few options. 1: email me the photos/videos you'd like in the video and I will finish it for you. You will retain full credit for the video. 2: Ask me for directions. Here are some things on videos;

• They don't need to include your face; I know some of you are worried about putting your face and such out there. And I tottally get that. But here's an idea--make a video that's almost like a slideshow presentation.
  
• They do not need to promote the books; If you've never read TDW, TWLC, or COTSK. That is perfectly alright! You can get points for promoting Silvertree. So long as you mention COTSK in the video.
• You do not need a Youtube account; If you do not have, or do not want to make, a Youtube account I will gladly post the videos for you on mine.
  

3. Photos

These are worth less points, but are fairly easy to get. All you have to do is go into a store and take a picture of the books on the shelf with you and an employee in the pic. Very simple. 200 Points per location. Now, again if you don't want to be in the pic...insert something to represent yourself...something like your username or the like. Storyteller used her yellow ball in her pics, and that works just fine.

And that's the theme. Multimedia. If you think of anything else that falls into this category, DO IT. And as always reviews and such are appreciated. We will have a full blown review attack though...trust me lol

Time-Sensitive Challenge

I'm sure everyone already knows of the school librarian challenge, if you don't, go to this post: http://enterthedoorwithin.blogspot.com/2009/09/biggest-contest-in-history-of-men-and.html It looks familiar but scroll to the bottom. I am also sure that most (if not all) of you go to a school with a library. This is an opportunity! Give the librarian WTB's email and explain it is for a free book! It is worth 5000 points per book (open-ended), and there are only 18 (if not less) books left, so let's get crackin'!

Throw Down Nightwing Month

Hey guys! This is the first week of december, possibly the last month of tribe building. No one knows for sure of the contests' ending...but in the rules it says clearly that the challenge will end on Midnight of Near Year's Day. Whether or not this is true has been debated through anylazing other sayings of Mi'lord Batson but for the time being we will assume that this is it.

And as the time is drawing near to the end we NEED more points. What does this mean?

Videos (2,ooo each!), reviews (500 each! And you can post the same one 10 places!), pictures, Christmas Presents (500 for every purchase...and if you give COTSK to a librarian, and maybe even teachers, you get thousands!). This means posters and blog posts and anything else you can think of! Heck, even book reports work.

I challenge all of you to do EVERYTHING possible that you can. Every last item on the list. Even if you don't think you can do a great job. Do it! We need points, we need to promote!

This month is officially "Throw Down Nightwing Decemeber". I do believe that they are winning with us as a close second. But they have bloggers, and so they automatically have chances for more points. All of you have blogger accounts now. USE THEM! One can acumlate nearly 10,000 points ONLY from blogs! As most all of Nightwing is bloggers they could have 300,000 points for all we know! (They don't, as Dwarf has told me, but they could soon).

If you do not have a blog I encourage you to start one. If you don't want to keep it up a TON perhaps start a blog, like Winter did, that would be updated everytime you read a good book. A blog only to post reviews on. But on this blog you could posts links to The Underground, WTB/CH's blogs in the sidebar, Amazon purchasing links (ask me for 'em.....8,000 Points total from them), cover art, and more! 10,000 Points.....very easy. Takes no time at all. And so I need you all to do something like this. If you have the time USE IT.

We are not of the night, we are of the day and of the light. Silvertree will uproot Nightwing.
